I haven't seen The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies yet, even though it's technically out now in the States. In fact, I'm probably not going to see it until at least this weekend, for a variety of reasons.

... well, two reasons. 1. I've read the book, so I know at least three things that are going to happen in the movie, and I'm really not in

Theaters around here apparently rarely do midnight showings now. The last few movies that I've planned on going to a midnight showing for in the past year or so, it turned out that the "midnight showing" was at 7pm. So, basically, when they said it's coming out on Wednesday? It's actually coming out on Tuesday. Which makes no sense to me, but oh well.

For the first two, it was actual midnight showings. And it was a nice experience! No little kids running around, no people who didn't have a clue what the movie was about and were there because it was the next movie to start... there's a reason that I don't tend to go to 7pm showings, because being it's just not fun for me. I either want to go to an inconveniently timed showing like midnight, when it's only other hardcore fans, or I want to go to an early matinee when nobody is there.

The local theatre actually had 7 & 9:30 showings tonight, but naturally my uncle has our car tonight so I couldn't go. grr

OTOH BF got 2 free movie tickets from her work's Secret Santa exchange, so I guess it's not THAT bad that I have to wait until Sunday if I save $7 in the process. LOL

Yeah, the fact that Yuletide is still hanging over my head is definitely helping with the decision.

And that would be part of the reason that I'm waiting to see it.
