I was in the middle of that explosion. It was glorious.

I'm still riding the high. x)

I'm not even remotely surprised by the news, but it's fun to watch everyone's reactions.

Ahaha I know. There's so much capslocked joy on my tumblr-dash and twitter right now.

Gotta say, it's much better than the Doctor Who-inspired angst the Supernatural shipping wars.

I must be feeling extra bitter and cynical today, because when I saw the news my first thought was "great, another tv show starring a white dude, and still no Black Widow movie."

Not that I don't think Coulson is awesome, because I do (though not as much as the greater fandom, it seems), but yeah... I'm just grumpy in general today, I think.

Oh, believe me, I understand that sentiment. I mean, there are so many awesome women on the Marvel side of things: Natasha, Carol, Jan, Wanda, Jessica (Jones & Drew). Why can't one of them have a movie already? :-/

I think it's because I've been following all the Marvel NOW reboot news and reading the current comics and have been so pissed about women and POCs being sidelined by Marvel that I can't really get excited about this. I wish I could.

It's a Joss Whedon show so I'm sure they'll have some kickass female characters, but I'd have much preferred a female lead.

Oh, yeah. *makes face* I'm honestly not following many actual comics right now, other than X-Factor, because - you know - I like series that have multiple women and POC (and LGBT characters, to be honest) in the main cast. Yet it's so hard to find titles that actually fit that criteria.

I'm not surprised that Coulson is coming back. I just hope that if it is a post-movie series, they deal with how much it mattered in the movie that Tony and Steve were told that he was dead. It's Joss, so I do have hope on that score.

ETA: Ugh, I feel like I'm being squee-harshing, which I don't want to be. Sorry.

I'm not surprised either. Though, personally, I'm not sure if the series is actually going to be set post-Avengers or not.

I would love it if it were pre-Avengers.

Because I did like Phil's character but his death was a hugely pivotal part of the movie and if they just retcon'd that in a different medium without showing the impact on the movie characters, I'd be annoyed.
