1.

Considering that they were both of different classes but of the same year, they didn’t really share the same schedules. Even a little. Donghae was up and running after the bus before Hyukjae was. Monday mornings were horrible, especially that his first class was as early as seven and that he was seated at the last row. Not only did he sat with notorious snorers (the ones that made inhumane rumbling sounds as they slept) but Donghae had visions problems, thus the blur written on the board were pretty much hieroglyphics on him. He was sure that that math problem didn’t have South Africa as the answer. What the hell was written on the board anyway?

He reached for his bag for his pencil case, fishing and noticing it was roomier than he was used to, until he realized he just left his lunch his dad made him. The brown paper bag with a heart drawn in the middle and a note inside that said, Have a Fishy Day, Son! like always at the counter. He reminded himself to ever not forget it.

And he did.

Then he remembered that his pocket money couldn’t even afford the rice and meat meal. Could he survive the day with ice cream instead? He wondered. And groaned in defeat.

This was why he hated Mondays.

“Don’t worry, Hae. You can share my salad. It’s made of 30% organic vegetable and 70% of love and tenderness!” It was lunch and Siwon pushed his tray towards the incredulous Donghae. Sungmin leant next to him, close and whispering.

“This is why I don’t eat Siwon’s lunch. But I won’t spoil you with so much. Here, try it.” Sungmin forked pieces of lettuces and tomato before shoving it inside an unprepared mouth without much a warning.

No wonder the latter outweighed the former; the salad tasted all shades of terrible with dressings Donghae wasn’t sure were sold publicly on the market. Or even existing. But Siwon kept an unfazed and happy face, asking, “So? Tastes awesome right??”

He would’ve grumbled a No when he caught sight of Hyukjae entering the cafeteria; his own loud and laughing peers of various sections surrounding him. If Donghae remembered correctly, Hyukjae’s class would start two hours after lunch. He would be guessing that Hyukjae planned to eat lunch here instead at home. That made sense.

What he wouldn’t guess was that Hyukjae was approaching him in quick haste; eyes lock with his. Serious face, tight lips, nice eyes-what in the world was Donghae thinking.

“Lee Hyukjae at 12’o’clock.” Sungmin whispered, inching closer to Siwon, as if in total guard. Donghae shook his head, getting into the game. He wasn’t sure what the sudden serious mood was for, not even aware that his friend even knew Hyukjae.

“Hey,” the touch on his shoulder made him jump. It wasn’t painful per say, but it made him jolt upward and facing Hyukjae immediately, hearing him say, “You left this at home. Your dad told me to give it to you. He’d be upset if you miss lunch, much less didn’t eat his cooked meal.”

His hand showed the brown paper bag, still neat and presentable and intact. But he was more attentive on the hand that touched him, sending him waves of spark through him. Why did every time Hyukjae touch him, Donghae felt so awkward and weak like this?

Then he remembered to act as typical of him as possible. Composed and cool. People were watching him. Or so that was the impression he got when he noticed Siwon and Sungmin looking at him, quiet and observant. Their expression both told Wow, did Lee Hyukjae just give him lunch and You know Lee Hyukjae, Donghae?!

“Gosh, thanks. I thought I was having air and food smell for my stomach.” Donghae tried for humor, accepting the bag and seating down. Voice low and shy he murmured, “Thanks.”

“No problem.” Hyukjae said, turning around and sauntering over his group of friends and then everything was back to normal with them laughing and minding their own business and the three resuming eating.

But Sungmin had the look that he wanted answers at the curious spectacle that took place. “Home? Dad? Are you guys, what, relatives or something? Lee Hyukjae’s a real playboy! I wouldn’t even think you guys are even related at all!”

Donghae wasn’t paying much attention, pulling out a perfectly made sandwich and packed lunch and smiling, feeling glad and thankful at the same time. To his dad and Hyukjae the lunch-bringer. “Yeah, we are. By law, that is. His mom and my dad and all the jazz that came with it. I’m just surprised that Dad would be shameless as to pass this to Hyukjae. Gah, so embarrassing.”

Sungmin leant back, arms crossed and indignant. “Well, I don’t know. Brother or not, keep a look out. Hyukjae’s really something, people told me. Of the things he and his circle do.”

That made him look at Hyukjae’s direction, considering Sungmin’s sudden warning. Though Hyukjae looked like the playful-type (and by all means, he knew just how playful he could get), there were no tell-tale signs of Warning, Bad Brother and Person! Do not get too close! on him. Hyukjae was actually nice and he witnessed that at home.

He looked again, surprised to catch Hyukjae staring at him too - gaze direct and firm. He made a small squeak in surprise, immediately averting his face and sinking on his seat. He couldn’t stop feeling so flushed all of sudden. The things that man undid him really.

“What’s wrong, Hae? Is the food not sitting properly? You looked like you’re ready to hurl.”

Thank god for Siwon and his obliviousness. Without saying anything, he stuffed his mouth with sandwich and didn’t look again.

2.

The big move did happen. From a small house to a little bigger one. Nicer floorings, neater furniture and they were next to a public park. Donghae liked those - a place to hang out when he deciding to take a stroll. Or when he felt like watching little kids play. Good thing they didn’t leave the city; they just relocated themselves to somewhere else - by fact, better - and that Sungmin and Siwon didn’t bawl at him from going too far away. I’m just blocks away! And no, I’m not switching schools. Would you guys stop crying and listen to me first?! Aish!

The anticipated great debate happened when Donghae came in the empty - lesser stuff, more space, it meant - house, looking for his father before he saw his now-mother at the kitchen arranging kitchen stuff. Cute, purple apron and pony-haired really suited her - the mommy look.

“Hey, little Hae. Hyukjae’s up so you guys better decide your rooms. Snacks would be served later, okay? It’s your favorite!”

Ah, right. He remembered that conversation before. He’d be having his own room. Honestly, he couldn’t imagine staying with another person in one room. Where would his privacy go? It would only make him a uncomfortable, especially Hyukjae had his semi-naked tendencies - walking around with sweats or jeans on only. Tight muscles, lots of skins. It wouldn’t surprise Donghae if he’d stop and stare, and drool, one day. He really needed to control certain urges of his, really.

Then he found out that two available rooms were both big and small. The big one had a nice interior, brown in color and very spacious. The smaller one had only a nice view of the backyard. And, oh, it had a private bathroom, perhaps for compensation for the lack of any good stuff.

Hyukjae greeted him with his usual expressionless face; nodding at his arrival. “Hey, do you want to decide which room to get?”

Donghae looked at the doors next to each other, showing the insides and outweighing pro’s and con’s. Trying to decide. Of course he wanted the big one. Who wouldn’t want getting the biggest room? In there he could have a two-seater couch, his gaming consoles (he had one too many) and some work-out machines. His old desk would go perfectly at the side, a bean-bag and a carpet too. His CDs and music player at the opposite side and-the list went on. He just had so much stuff to put in.

But, oh, it felt like it was unfair to get the better one. Especially when he didn’t know what Hyukjae wanted. For all he knew Hyukjae was deciding to get the big one too but wasn’t voicing out. It was only polite to offer the best, as what he was brought upon since childhood.

Now he wasn’t sure how to go about this. He might as well offer his sacrifice straight on because, well, he was now the younger sibling. Younger siblings played the selfless role, right?

“You’re spacing out.” The hand on his lower back, just near his hips, made him start; facing the worried Hyukjae and blinking. He belatedly realized just how close Hyukjae to his face. “Don’t think too much. You can have the big room if you wanted to.”

“I-really, I can?” His eyes couldn’t get any bigger. Surprised. “How did you know I wanted that?”

Hyukjae smirked, pointing Donghae’s hand that had gripped the threshold of the bigger room’s door. Feeling flustered, Donghae immediately removed his hand and straightened up.

“Well, yeah, I do want that but maybe you wanted it too?” Donghae said, stuttering some of the words. Growing unbelievably shy. He should really start composing himself when he was with Hyukjae. It was causing him odd problems.

He watched Hyukjae shaking his head, his hand found its way to Donghae’s cheek and patting it endearingly. His breathing hitched at the touched that felt thrilling.

“I want what makes you happier. If you want the spacious place, go right ahead. I don’t mind,” Hyukjae grinned his famous gummy grin and continued, “cause I’m one amazing and considerate brother like that.”

He felt warm on the cheeks, on the spot that Hyukjae pinched him and watched him finally putting down his personal box and other belongings inside the small room. The push on his back made him step inside the room next to Hyukjae’s, hearing his laugh as he bounded down the stairs for more of his stuff. It was decided then.

Although he couldn’t miss Hyukjae sniggering as he walked pass Donghae, “Yeah, my own bathroom. I can’t wait to do that there.”

Donghae wasn’t sure what that entailed.

3.

It was the first time he saw Hyukjae’s mother - he still couldn’t get the hang of it calling her mommy; he was shy like that - bedridden due to fever. She looked so pale and tired and Donghae couldn’t help but worry. He made sure to stay next to her bed, on a chair with a book at hand in case she needed anything he was near. His father wasn’t home, working and Donghae was sure that right about now his dad was wigging out. Stay calm, alright? I’m with her. Don’t you dare jump out of the office window in haste just to get home. We need you alive to bring in medicine, Donghae messaged him. And he got Hu hu hu, okay. :( Please tell her to stay and rest and I love her in return.

He messaged Hyukjae who was still at school next. Mother is sick. I really want to go out to buy ingredients to cook soup for her but I don’t want to leave her alone. Could you buy them for me instead? He pressed send, watching the little envelop icon moving. Waiting for a reply. And then it hit him late when I remembered Hyukjae saying something about going out with his friends tonight and going home very late after last night. Donghae cursed inside. How could he miss that?

He messaged him again, following it up with a sigh. No, wait. Sorry. I’ll go get them instead. You said you had plans for today right?

Donghae received the reply so quick. No, I’m coming home. Tell me what you need and I’ll get them.

You sure? I don’t want to bother you, he sent and inwardly hit himself in sounding like a girl. For distraction he looked at the lady sleeping and tucked the blanket at her sides.

Donghae, you’re never a bother to me, was what he got seconds later. And it made his heart flutter just a little at that. So, ingredients?

No sooner than twenty minutes, the kitchen was on the move with two men bustling and hustling. Donghae prepared and cooked while Hyukjae cleaned and washed. Because Hyukjae was sure that whatever he’d prepared would be remotely un-soup-like. His cooking skills below sub-zero.

They brushed hands by accident, their eyes met for a brief moment. Donghae swallowed and looking downwards, holding a blush at bay. Hyukjae looked expressionless again.

“T-thanks for coming home so quick.” Donghae murmured, stirring the finished soup and trying miserably sounding normal.

The lithe hand on his made his heart do weird stuff again, both of them stirring the soup together.

“Of course. That’s what brothers do.”

But, of course, that was what they were.

But brothers didn’t hold hands for so long and, did they? Didn’t stand too close like they could breath in each other’s hair, didn’t they? Donghae was unsure as what the soup turned out to be. They stirred too much, got distracted too much.

Actually, everything was too much right now.

4.

He was the one who got sick next; his mother cooing at him sadly, apologizing for passing the fever to him. He was never with high immunity, as it seemed like and as he was told. Despite the cool and controlled exterior, Hyukjae was actually easy to get sick.

He was instructed to skip school, to recover, and that left Donghae thinking what he could cook again and what other food to bring for the man back home during lecture hours. Hyukjae’s favorite strawberry-milk drink might cheer him up because he left home with a grumpy older brother earlier.

“He’s always like that,” his mother shared him while they were at the kitchen, cooking breakfast together that morning. “Never liked getting sick. He doesn’t want to get fawned over. Makes him extremely shy.”

That made him more determined as he looked through stalls at the supermarket after dismissal, deciding what to make and for two bottles strawberry-milk to take. It was high-time for Hyukjae to feel taken care of. Donghae wanted to be to one taking care of him.

He got home as quickly as he could, entering the house with a drop of his bag and grocery inside the kitchen. He rushed up the stairs to see Hyukjae’s door open and saw him on his bed, still warm and weak.

“You okay?” Donghae asked gently, carefully pushing down the blanket that covered Hyukjae’s lips, to hear him speak.

“Fine. Just sore but fine.”

“I got you your favorite drink.” That was then he noticed the silence of the house and no pitter-patter of footsteps or clanking of pans and kitchenware. “Did mom leave?”

“She said something about buying stuff.” Hyukjae groaned with a dry throat, turning his back on the looming Donghae above him and coughing after. “You might get sick. Don’t come too close.”

“I’ll cook something for you, okay? I’ll be done in a few.”

“I’m fine. Don’t worry about me.” Hyukjae’s tone raised an octave - a persuasion tone that Donghae wasn’t buying. He instead laid a hand on the warm hair and petted softly.

“Patients are not allowed to order their nurses. I’m coming right back.”

He padded down the stairs in record time, wore his signature blue apron and began preparing. It was good that he was doing the easiest but tastiest soup he read online. This would definitely soothe an ailing and grumpy Hyukjae.

He took the bottled sweet drink before climbing up again, carefully balancing the food on his arm. “I’m here, so sit right up.”

“Donghae, I swear…”

“C’mon.” He made to sit firmly on the bed, bowl on his lap and other stuff on the bed side table. Donghae showed no signs of backing down. “This would be good for you.”

“Urgggh. Fine.” The blankets moved and stirred, and then a messy bed-hair popped up.

Donghae beamed and watched Hyukjae sitting up, only to reveal wearing a black wife-beater clothing instead of a warm, thick ones. The plate transition was slow but careful as Hyukjae took the food to his lap and began swallowing little sip. Donghae hadn’t checked what it tasted like, too excited to bring the food to him.

“How was it?”

“Can’t taste anything.” Hyukjae wheezed a little, but still eating. The content slowly disappearing.  “Now that you mentioned my drink, I think I want to have that now.”

“Sure.”

He took the now empty bowl, handed the bottle and was about to stand and leave, for Hyukjae to rest, when Hyukjae reached for his wrist. “C’mere.”

“What’s wrong?” Donghae asked.

“Sit.” Hyukjae pulled him down, like he had the option to actually choose not to and watched him curiously. He then felt the bottle on at the back of his hand; Hyukjae pushing it to him. “Drink this. For me.”

“I thought you wanted it.” Donghae wondered as he placed the bowl away and accept the drink, still waiting for some kind of explanation from Hyukjae but he wasn’t getting any. Only an expectant face and a hand on his lap, Hyukjae leaning towards him. He was smiling and that surprised Donghae. “Well, alright. Though I’m not sure where you’re going with this.” With a pop, the bottle was open and Donghae jugged down the sweet drink. It tasted what it did and it was years since he last had one. Donghae was never the strawberry man.

He should have known this was coming, but, really, no one would expect such an act at all. Not between them at all, that was. He couldn’t stop it either, not because Hyukjae was strong enough to hold him but it felt too good to resist and deny it anyway. The lips that pressed against his, probing mouth and liquid slipping to another mouth made kissing a new entire spin.

Hyukjae was drinking from him. And it was the sexiest thing he’d ever done with anyone. The exploring silk tongue and a supporting hand at the back of his head had him giving in and kissing even deeper, bolder, and sensual.

The need for air made them pull apart, panting and much for Donghae’s embarrassment, a trail of strawberry-milk was at one corner of his mouth. Visible, dribbling, sweet, tasty. And Hyukjae leaned forward to lick it away, hearing Donghae gasp. He was blushing so badly like he was the one who was sick and not the other one.

“Again.” He said, taking hold of Donghae’s hand on the bottle and making him drink again. When he had so much inside his mouth, he took the bottle away and placed it on the table, afraid to get knocked over. Hyukjae then pulled Donghae’s face to his and drank once more from him without a break. Kissing, lapping and taking in as much as he could, including the groans and whimpers that sounded in pleasure. He felt the hand on his chest, sensing Donghae’s sudden inability to stay upright until both of them fell back on bed. The kiss finally broken, with Hyukjae letting out an “Ooof!” sound.

Glowing red cheeks, huffing breathing and swollen lips were all over Donghae. Speechless Donghae, to be exact. And it took seconds for him to realize what had happened and scampered off Hyukjae and running out the door blindly, stuttering sorry’s and then hearing something crashed right after and a groaning Donghae.

Hyukjae chuckled, nuzzling back to his blanket and pillow. A little satiated but he could fix himself later for completion.

He felt so light, really. The kiss made him feel so much better. And with the last drop from the bottle of strawberry-milk on his table he just finished made him conclude that it would never taste as good as it was on Donghae’s mouth.

As for Donghae, he lay sprawled on the newspapers and boxes he knocked over downstairs and contemplated at the nice and quiet ceiling as to why, in every emotion there existed in the universe, did he feel so elated after the kiss? He shouldn’t feel this way. He should never. Towards Hyukjae.

And yet, it felt so good. To be with Hyukjae.

5.

The party had made him once again, do the darnest thing. He could really blame everything to senior Heechul and his spur-of-the-moment invitation back to his club to get plowed. He should have declined and resisted the grabby hands that manhandled him inside. Heechul’s lackeys could be very persuasive. Literally.

Lay off the booze, Donghae. Lay off the booze, he reminded himself as he watched bodies against bodies in a sexy dance. Feeling tight and bothered, he looked away and downed himself an iced tea. He could’ve run away if it weren’t for Heehul’s ‘bodyguards’ watching him like a hawk, egging him to have fun.

And having fun included spiking his drink. Now he found himself dancing again like the Flail Masters they were - he and Heechul - and nothing mattered anymore. He ought to have messaged his dad about being home late. Or his mom. Or at least Hyukjae. No one back home knew where he currently was. If ended up sleeping somewhere over the night, the parents would flip.

Hyukjae. He remembered his moment with Hyukjae. The forbidden kiss they shared - so tempting, alluring, so sweet. Just how dramatic his life could get? Not only did he enjoy that, he was starting to realize he really did have the hots for his older brother. Ever since that time back then, when they first met, when they first did it. How should he have known it would come to this?

This was beyond normalcy. If he loved his brother that way, he needed distraction. Or the doctor. But distraction would save him money more than therapy could. If he got hooked up again, maybe he’d forget.

Without realizing he had downed himself more alcohol than he could actually tolerate with all the thinking inside his head, his inhibition was low that another man had managed to box him against a darker corner next to the comfort room. Why was he there again?  Ah, he did think of going to the comfort room and…

“Hey, you look like you really need some loving tonight,” the man chuckled as two hands found their way on his hips. Gripping but not hurting. Donghae couldn’t keep a head up, lolling to one side and another and his lousy hand waving to ward off the man was pathetic.

“No, thank you.” He managed out, trying to peel himself off but he was even more pressed against the wall, insistent hands roaming on his now opened shirt and unbuttoned jeans. Cold lips were on his neck, nipping and suckling and so, so wrong. This wasn’t turning him on. “N-no, stop.”

“Hm? But your body wants it so badly.” The man laughed, palming him through his pants that had Donghae jumping in retaliation. “See? Don’t make it too hard for the both of us. If you get what I mean.”

The kiss was a mess, all sloppy and demanding and everything he didn’t like. He could taste the wine the man had, could even identify what was his and what wasn’t and pushed himself away, only to get drawn even more. Mouth nipping his lower lip, suckling hard, hips grinding his own and knees wobbling in weakly. He wanted this to stop. He wanted it to stop right now.

Like a prayer, the weight on him immediately disappeared and heard the man groaning on the floor, all curled in a lethal position and arms around his tummy. Standing next to him was, Donghae wasn’t sure. The lights were too dim.  The silhouette still familiar. Faintly he could hear a threat, a growling tone.

“Touch him again, I’ll hit you. But if you touch his lips again, you’re as good as dead.”

That familiar tone, he knew of that. And the kiss on his lips that came after, he knew all too well. Gentle, soft and sweet what he was accustomed with; the arm around his waist and wet trails on neck were like everything the man couldn’t do. He even felt hands buttoning up his shirt, zipping close his pants.

Only one person who could make him so turned on even with his intoxicated state. And that was Hyukjae and his tender advances.

“Donghae, I’ve been looking for you everywhere.” Hyukjae whispered to his already flaming ears, embracing him closer. Tighter.  They got themselves away from the loud crowd to a quieter, exit place behind the club. Both of them under a bulb light, surrounded by the dark. “I just knew you had to be here. Damn, I wished that man didn’t touch you so much.”

“Hyukjae…” Donghae called softly, raising a hand to brush red cheeks to and stared at deep eyes he felt himself would gladly drown into. Serious, tempting, wonderful. “I don’t know… why I feel this way. With you, I’m…”

“Donghae...”

“With you, I’m… a mess. And I think I love this kind of mess.”

Donghae finally passed out, on Hyukjae’s chest, missing the smile that had graced on the latter’s lips. He didn’t hear, didn’t know but Hyukjae murmured in reply, “Yeah, I’m a mess too. We both are.”

Fin.

--

1.    In which Hyukjae brought him lunch. I think that was very brother-like.
2.    Deciding rooms? I envisioned that to be some kind of sibling activity.
3.    Helping together for their mom is, well, so family-ish!
4.    Making them kiss like that, hee. I meant to drive them both insane.
5.    Getting jealous and protective, something a lover should feel towards his partner. Well then.

A/N: I’m pretty much on sleep-mode. Right now it’s 4AM and I don’t think I’m in the condition to correct grammar and missing words. Please do tell me if I did make mistakes, I’ll get back to those when I’m, well, not like this. Like a zombie. Ugh.

So, well, yeah, sequel from the last time? I hope you liked it. Because I did. And I almost planned to shorten this actually but I started writing while thinking and thinking while writing and got expanded more and more. I think I just burned my brain cells.

Love me, darlings? Cakes would be most wonderful. They'd make a happy Setsu even happier! (and, oh, shameless pimp post: my Tumblr!)
