Scenario 05: The Henry Violin

“Um, no. Can I take another look? This is not it.” We all heard for the nth time from Henry as he and the store attendant disappeared inside the backroom. We exchanged exasperated looks with each other when our member was no longer in sight.
We seriously had no idea that this trip would turn out this tiring, especially if the trip had the agenda of buying a violin for practice-use. At first, it was just a honest fun of “C’mon, let’s see how Henry-ah buys his instrument! It’ll be fun!” experience.
We had no idea how dead wrong we were. Henry was far worse than any female picking out a simple flip-flop to wear for summer!
From one store to another, one mall to another, one city to another, all of us would drag ourselves just to keep up with Henry and his frantic search for the one. Just like earlier, when he took a quick glance at a wooden violin inside of this large music store, he simply shook his head and walked away.
There was also moment when he simply touched another similar instrument, he immediately declined buying it.
Only three hours had passed and we felt like we did a five-hour concert because of him.
“But sir, this is only the one we have.” The attendant and him appeared and Henry looked like he was about to cry.
“Are you sure?” He asked in his most polite manner and the store employee shook her head in dismay.
“Why won’t you buy that instead, Henry-ah?” We all asked, partly for the reason that we all wanted to go home and the other out of genuine curiosity. Henry looked at us like we just asked the silliest question in the entire universe.
“Hyung, this isn’t it! It’s not speaking to me!” He exclaimed in defeat like it was the most obvious thing in the world. He then pushed the violin right in front of our noses, stating more of his point. “Don’t you hear it? Feel it?? This is not the Henry Violin!”
Just what exactly was the Henry Violin? We would never know. Or understand. All we wanted to know just how long before this quest would stop. We seriously wanted to go home.
Apparently, three weeks had already passed and there was still no sign of the Henry Violin.
And our little Henry was the verge of flying back to Canada just to continue his search for the destined stringed one.
