So much of Victorian horror seems involved with what a terribly frightening thing sex is, or at least enjoying sex, which seems to be the case with "The Great God Pan", a deservedly renowned novella by Arthur Machen. I did read the whole thing in one day, and I'm a slow reader, so it is quite enjoyable. The story seems to be blushing uncontrollably the whole time you're reading it.
