I had another comment where I linked to my article about bible curses, but I was just saying that I really love the idea of a movie actually trying to adapt the Bible stories for all their passion and craziness and not sugarcoating everything.
The weird thing about it is it felt as sedate and studio clean as, say, Quo Vadis or Cleopatra, it just presented man's right to have multiple wives and death as a punishment to women for adultery as though they were totally reasonable and normal, as if this sort of thing were status quo in 1951.
