Check out Child of Storm- in which Quatermain gets vamped by a fascinating and amoral Zulu woman whom he is too hidebound and racist to realise is his ideal soul-mate. I think it's Haggard's best book- or at least the best of the ones I've read (and I've read quite a few.)
