Thanks for this; interesting story. Machen, whom you mention, seems indeed to be an influence, and nice though this is, I think that AM is a much more powerful writer. You have written about The Great God Pan; have you read The White People? I think that that and A Fragment of Life are among his greatest works.

Yes, I've enjoyed Machen's work, I find him very effective.
