The product of an era when you could make a film about Ireland and the Irish without the participation of any actual Irish people.

Most of the supporting cast were Irish--Kate's father, her priest, the proprietor of the grocery store; Irish actress Marie Kean has some memorable moments as Eugene's housekeeper--but, yeah, none of the main cast. The actually Irish performers emphasised the varying levels of success the main cast had at imitating Irish accents.
