I know I'm a frightful pedant but it niggles me that the church interior is so obviously Victorian.
Disney- of all studios- filmed another version of the story- based- as this is- on Russell Thorndike's novel Dr Syn- using one of the old churches on Romney Marsh- where the interior is authentically and rustically 18th century. They painted the white pews pink because it looked better on film- and the parishioners were so pleased with the new look that the pews have remained pink ever since.
