Since I suspect I'm going to get questions, this is a tiny photo resource post for the fic I'm posting really shortly.

Sachiel
So there are really a lot of species of otter; Sachiel (and Marjorie) is genius Aonyx rather than Lontra, so basically she's a lot smaller than ordinary North American river otters, and she's certainly nothing like a sea otter. There are a lot of photos there, though those aren't it exactly, but if you really want to get a good idea of what I was going for, you should watch this youtube video clip. It's an exert from Planet Earth (nothing dies except a fish, don't worry) and it's simultaneously the cutest and funniest thing on the planet, and also will hopefully illuminate why, exactly, Sam is what he is. (Also? Otters make the best pissed off noises. It's like the verbal equivalent of the bitchface!)

King cheetahs are a sort of rare mutation of an African cheetah; they have splotches and stripes rather than the usual spots, and they're slightly larger. Sachiel looks something like this, here's another picture for reference.

Marjorie
This is a bamboo lemur, in case anyone had a burning desire to know.

If you want a truly fantastic blog with coyote photos, look at this syndicated feed. This is also (apparently!) where the photo at the end comes from; I found it via stock.xchng.

Bela's daemon is a zorro, also known as a "false fox." She looks a little like this or this; here's a redder morph, possibly a different subspecies (there are four), and here's a puppy. Because you needed those ears in your life.

And for anybody not living in the US or familiar with birds, Madison's daemon is a barn swallow. Lest anyone think I'm slighting her, I worked in a raptor/wildlife center for a number of years, and there are actually few birds I'd be less willing to cross. They're tiny, but they will dive bomb the hell out of you if you get near their nests, and the inevitably think garages are awesome places to hang out, which is great when you're trying to feed the dog and concerned about a bird flying into you.

And, y'know, Jo's, just in case anybody wants to look at snakes.

Kaida, by the way, is a black and tan german shepherd; google is nice enough to give me photos of four thousand stuffed german shepherds, so you'll have to work out that image on your own.

If there's anything else, feel free to ask in comments! I think I nailed all the truly weird ass animals I selected, but if you're not sure, I'm happy to talk at length about whatever it is.

spn, malleus maleficarum
