So having watched Heart, in a continuation of discussion from fahye's journal...

1. Sam, in canon, has not gotten laid in awhile. I mean, seriously, the show's run for (approximately) two years, and he's had ONE sexual partner. And okay, I'm totally a member of the "Sam was a virgin before Jess" camp, but regardless. He's not getting any.

2. And I think we can safely say that some of what's holding him back is that Sam is the type of guy who doesn't really do casual sex, but I think, also? Two major points: he doesn't see his own appeal, especially compared to Dean, who women kind of fall at, and when it comes to getting women into bed? He's shy. He obviously likes Madison and he's SO AWKWARD with her, he has no idea what to say or what to do.

3. But on the other hand, he's clearly wildly enthusiastic in bed. As oxoniensis put it in a comment, "Sam might be a bit shy on the approach but he loves sex, and he likes messy hot dirty sex." I'm with her on this one. For all that he's not getting laid? I think if Sam were given the opportunity for a hell of a lot of sex with someone he really cared about, he wouldn't even come up for air.

4. And okay, maybe he's a little bit shy and awkward, but the clothes come off and he just goes for it, just completely eager and thrilled with the fact that hey, sex is happening, and I think somewhere in there you can hit a switch and go straight from awkward and a little bit shy to total top. And okay, Sam strikes me as the type of guy who maybe isn't all about technique, but somehow, you know, five orgasms later, it totally doesn't matter.

5. Which is why I think we need to point out just how AWESOME Dean getting him into bed would be, the first time, and maybe for awhile after that, because (and here are my important points):

a) Sam and Dean? Are having emotional sex. Regardless of HOW it happens, WHEN it happens, or how much Dean tries to play it down, Dean's his brother and Sam doesn't have to hold back with loving him at *all*, and Sam, in bed, not bothering to hold back how he feels? Oh, jesus. I think he'd show-rather-than-say, and... just think about it for a minute.

b) And he'd be happy. Stupidly, mind numbingly, can't stop *laughing* happy, because Sam falls from the start, and hard, and if Dean liked him back? Even if it was just a maybe? God.

c) It's sex, and he's male, and okay, he'd fall the fuck over himself and it would be hot and messy and probably a little bit of a disaster and someone would inevitably get kneed someplace not so great, but it would be good. So, so, so good, and I think there's a point where it'd slide from an enormous mess where no one has it together to deep, intense, and just open. I don't think either of them could help themselves.

d) I think they're both - for all that Dean sleeps with half the women he meets - a little touch starved, because yeah, okay, they're all over each other all the time, but I think Sam holds back and Dean's unsure. Together? Naked? With full permission for touching that's absolutely laden with trust, affection, and caring? I think they'd both be more than a little bit overwhelmed by that.

e) And Sam might be a little shy at first, when they both end up in over their heads, and you know that tone of voice Dean uses when he thinks something is going to happen to Sam and he's trying to hold in how he feels and be reassuring, even though he's scared too? (The scene in Croatoan when Sam's maybe infected and he's all, "I'm tired," and the end of Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things, as examples.) He'd totally talk to him like that.

f) And then Sam would just fucking go for it.

Or, you know, there are about a thousand permutations here, but owing to points 1-4? ALL ARE AWESOME.

Everyone should tell me their version. Or, you know, write me their version, because there is so not enough Sam/Dean first time fic out there that focuses on how Sam hasn't gotten laid in forever and loves sex anyway.
