I cannot stand revising grammar any more. The whole experience of studying English language has been crushing, both literally and figuratively.
I decided to vent my anger by creating a blog for open letters (because I love writing open letters, especially to inanimate objects!) and my first ones were to various tenses and word classes...

Oh, the sighs of recognition when reading the letters...As they say in the old country, been there, done that, got the hell out after they gave me my degree. I still have, of course, an unlimited amount of love and affection for the English language but sometimes, just sometimes, Grammar should take a long running jump of a very high building...

Also, I missed 'periphrastic do' in your list...:-) Have fun with *that* one... :-)

Jesus, haven't even heard of that! I'm going to let Wikipedia, o trusty companion, give me a headstart...
Yeah, English language would be immense if it wasn't for grammar. I'm all for categorising, but honestly, aren't they taking it a little too far? It's like calling a type of bug something completely different just because it has an extra spot or something. We humans love to make things difficult for ourselves...
