The colours, of course, were to be green and silver. The colours he now associated with honour.
I'm extremely proud of Harry for changing his opinions - something which is difficult for us all.
You know, I can actually see this being part of the seventh book - Severus and Draco defecting to the light, Severus being killed and Draco as the redemption character. Slashy fangirlness aside, I only hope Harry learns to forgive and accept them when the time comes. :)
Thank you for the though-provoking ficlet, love! *hugs fiercely*
Wow! Thanks for the wonderful comments. I actually struggled a bit with this, trying to be concise, while portraying the gradual acceptance of a different view of things, without rushing it. Glad you liked it.
Slashy fangirlness aside, I only hope Harry learns to forgive and accept them when the time comes. You know, I think that JKR has already set the stage for that. Harry witnessed Draco's dropping of the wand, and he listened to Dumbledore's and Draco's words. He already changed his focus from Draco at the very end of book 6, choosing to focus on Snape instead. I think, in his quest for the horcruxes, he'll have time to reflect. And I believe that Snape's true role/motivation will come out in the final book. I even have a thought that Dumbledore's unwavering acceptance of Snape was solidified by an Unbreakable Vow of his own with him. Somehow, Dumbledore will get the message to Harry. He has to! ♥
