“So have you decided where we shall sojourn, Harry?”
“I told you I want it to be a surprise,” Harry replied.
“What’s he asking about?” Ron inquired.
“Our vacation,” Harry told his friend. “I told him that I wanted to choose where we go this time.”
“So where are you going?”
“Dunno. I like going away with Draco, but he always wants to do some high-brow thing, so I wanted to choose this year. It seemed like a good idea at the time.”
“But now you don’t know what to do?”
“No. I’ve looked at a few places, but nothing really strikes me as a place I want to go.”
“When Mum and Dad went away last year, Hermione did lots of research. How about I get her to owl the details to you?”
“That’d be great. Thanks Ron.”
“Where are we going?” Draco asked for the fifth time.
“I told you it’s a surprise. Now stop asking.”
“But why must we take a car?”
“Muggles go there too.” Seeing the horrified look on his boyfriend’s face, Harry quickly added, “But relax. You’ll love it.”
Three days later, the two of them were sitting on the edge of the dock, feet dangling in the water, holding hands. “You know, Harry, I never would have guessed.”
“Hmm?”
“We are at a Muggle resort, and we have done nothing to speak of on our vacation. We have seen no sights, attended no shows, visited no museums or art galleries.”
Harry looked at his boyfriend, wondering where this was leading. He was having a wonderful time, and he had thought that Draco was too. They had spent time alone together, there were hardly any other people around, and they had rekindled the spark that sometimes faded when the business of everyday life gets to be too much. “And?” he asked.
Draco smiled and gave him a kiss. “And I couldn’t imagine anyplace I would rather be, or anyone I would rather be with.”
