It was their first Christmas together, so Harry and Draco were going through the plans for the season.
"I've got loads of decorations!" Harry cried excitedly as he made his way downstairs to gather up his collection of Christmas odds and ends. In his haste, he missed the condescending roll of the eyes that was directed at him.
"I can hardly wait," Draco drawled. The sarcasm was lost on Harry.
Draco had been good. Very good, in fact. Extremely good. So good that he thought his head might explode from the sheer pressure of holding back. Then Harry pulled out one more red and gold streamer and he lost it.
"This isn't the effing Gryffindor common room, Harry! It's our home! Surely you do not expect me to be surrounded, engulfed, and literally drowned in Gryffindor cheer?! I mean I get that you're proud of your house, such that it is, but really, enough is enough." There. He'd said it. That wasn't so bad, was it? Only ...
Harry looked crushed. "But red and gold are Christmas colours. I didn't mean ..."
Draco felt awful after exploding like that. He hadn't meant it all to come pouring out that way. "It's okay, Harry. Why don't we just go out and pick up some more Christmas balls, some garland, some holly and maybe some tinsel."
"Green and silver?" he asked.
"Yeah," Draco agreed. "Maybe strike a good balance, right?"
Harry smiled and gave Draco a big hug. "Just like us!"
