It's too long for Facebook, and I am in the mood for it.

"To Sherlock Holmes she is always the woman. I have seldom heard him mention her under any other name. In his eyes she eclipses and predominates the whole of her sex. I just love him so much. He was my first literary love and will never leave me. I still remember reading that illustrated classics version of Hound of the Baskervilles at the age of 8 or so...in fact, I remember standing in the Seta's basement with Molly and showing her the picture of the hound and saying, "See?? It's so frightening!"

I guess that means I have Wini to thank for him. Which makes sense.

I am two books behind with Laurie R. King. I need to play catch-up this summer. I also want to read Caleb Carr's The Italian Secretary, as I'm currently reading The Alienist and it's excellent.

What I love is how I haven't even read all the books and I'm like a secondary fan because I absorbed your love/knowledge like a sponge. Also, I am fascinated by the fan following.

I'm reading them chronologically right now and am rereading A Study in Scarlet. I think I'm...one behind on Laurie R. King? I plan to track down A Garment of Shadows at the library this week. (The Pirate King could be read for completeness but did NOT read like a Holmes or a Russell novel AT ALL, could be easily skipped.)

Ooh, The Italian Secretary looks interesting!
