Dr. Seuss book banned from class for being too 'political'

A BC school board had the Dr. Seuss book Yertle the Turtle banned after a teacher displayed a quote from the book. The horrible, political, divisive quote in question?

"I know, up on top you are seeing great sights, but down here on the bottom, we, too, should have rights."

God forbid children ever be given any insight into the world they live in. No wonder every generation is more sheltered, spoiled and self-entitled than the last.

Er, it was political... Seuss said in interviews several times that Yertle the Turtle was modeled after Hitler (sometimes "or Mussolini"). So yes. It's WWII politics.

Which I bet is not what that school board was thinking.
