Okay, I always knew that scifi and gaming conventions didn't always attract the most, ahem, socially competent of persons, but this just takes the cake.
And here I thought most of us learned the "don't touch everything you see and especially not without permission from the owner of the thing" rule by the time they're eight years old...
Unfortunately, when some people go out in public, they instantly revert to the level of a toddler, but without a toddler's capacity to listen and learn. :/
I gotta admit, I'm a tactile person, but even if you do screw up and finger what you're not supposed to... there are definately better ways to respond.
Of course, if the guy's a known thief on top of it all... ugh.
If you touch without thinking, I won't snap at you. It happens; everyone touches something without thinking at some point or another. But the appropriate response is "I'm sorry", as most people know.
I don't know why they let this guy back into the con this year if they had complaints last year. Gah.
