I didn't know that Will Smith's "Men In Black" was actually a filk take-off of Patrice Rushen's "Forget Me Not".

This seems like a cop-out on MIB's part. I mean, was "Forget Me Not" well enough known to make a decent filk and I just didn't know until today?

In other news, I finally got a new phone! No, I don't totally know how to use it yet. Soon

Slight *boggle* moment there, then I realise that not everyone knew that from day one (perhaps it's just being a little older I remember it in the UK charts back in 1982! (it reached #8)) ... George Michael also used it the year before MiB in "Fast Love" ... it's a very catchy, and very recognisable tune. It was a US top 40 hit (top 5 in dance and R&B charts) and was featured in Tom Hanks film "Big". So yes, well enough known ( ... )
