HOT FUZZING

I laughed more at Hot Fuzz than any other movie in a while. The movie is a phenomenal send-up of the cop action movie genre (distinct from the police procedural drama movie). I liked Shaun of the Dead (done by the same team) a lot, but as someone who isn't particularly a fan of the original zombie movie genre, some of the jokes didn't hit home

You find it surprising that a middle aged mother of a tenaged daughter would retain her instinct to slap? I'd imagine that woman spends large amounts of time surpressing it!

I suddenly find myself imagining someone playing the slap game with a cat... simultaneously ridiculously stupid (due to the claws) and yet ridiculously cute.

I sort of play that with my cat. She's declawed, so there's no scratching, but it doesn't take her long to resort to biting instead.
