I'm the opposite of you.... Most of my life, I was a meat eater. Loved meat, especially steak. Now? I like seafood and bacon, maybe the occasional burger. But steak is too heavy in my stomach and I don't like any other pork product besides bacon (that's always been like that). I actually get sick when I eat meat, so I'm cutting back. Not for moral reasons, just because I don't like feeling sick. I've wondered if something isn't wrong... But I dunno.
If I ate my way all the time, I'd mostly be considered a vegan actually. A raw foods vegan. Again, not for morals... Just what I like to eat. And I'd never have guessed that years ago.
Yeah, I don't think I'll ever be one of those people who is, like... obsessively carnivorous. I'm one of those people that, if I don't eat fresh fruit and vegetables every day I go kind of peculiar. I try to cook as much from scratch as possible - Like, I'll never understand why a jar of pre-made, preservative-filled pasta sauce is considered good. I figure, eating meat, I'll stay the same, with the addition of meat. But yeah, your body usually tells you what it needs.
OMG me too on the fruit and veg. More so with fruit. With me it's not my "one of five a day" it's more like one of seventeen ;) We sell fresh juices at work and if I'm not making myself another juice, I'm snacking on the pineapple and strawberries... better than snacking on the cakes I guess! ;) Although milkshakes are still a bit of a weakness.
Growing up, we ate meat pretty much five or six nights a week. Now, I have a lot of chicken still, but red meat is maybe two or three times a month! But that's maybe more because it's expensive to buy... although I don't find myself craving it that often either.
You're older than I was when I had my first kid ;)
I'd be interested in your mission 101. I did it a few years back, and even though I didn't complete it, I accomplished a lot I probably wouldn't have otherwise.
Haha, I know - I'm not actually "too young" at all and I'm beginning to really notice that all the people I went to school with have children. Like, my facebook is covered in scan pictures, and baby pictures, and some people are on their second or third child. I just... there's no way I'm ready for that yet. Not that I think anyone is really ready, but I'm not ready to be so... unready.
Well maybe I'll post my list then :) I remember reading yours, years ago, and thought it was interesting. I just didn't know whether anyone would care to read it. And I can't guarantee that I'll even remember to update. I'm so busy, and all my internet time is snatches of reading the news on my phone or facebook... but you never know. :-)
haha, I know, I was just messing with you. I don't think people should be asking those sorts of questions of people in general, even if they're in a relationship/married, because, you know... some couples don't actually want children! It's kind of a rude question.
Wow, we really have been friends a long time then, haven't we? XD I think I started it Jan 1st 2008? I remember putting the using chopsticks and learning Japanese things on my list because of our trip to Japan in 2007. I am usually interested in what other people's goals are, so yeah, would definitely be interested in seeing your list, even if you don't update about it much. I don't think I updated about it that much either. Some things I crossed off well after I did them because I forgot about the list for a while ;)
I'm still stuck on "so when are you two going to get married?" In fact, on the last trip to see his family both his mom and brother were referring to me as J's fiance and I asked him if they knew something I didn't. He was surprised too, apparently we've just been together long enough that in their brains that has happened.
Welcome to knitting! I am trying to restart my habit, mostly because I shouldn't buy any new yarn until I use up at least some of what I already have.
