I'm getting a little edgy about the exams over the next couple of days, so I'm taking my mind off it by drabbling.
Anyone want to exchange drabbles? Leave a drabble in the comments and any partic requests - pairing, gen (yes, maybe a little het) any rating. I'll exchange as comment response. most of the fandoms I can write are in my interests list, ( Read more... )

Worry often gives a small thing a big shadow. ~Swedish Proverb lilyleia78 May 20 2009, 02:58:33 UTC
Drabble is a relative term, right? On the streets Jack had known worry. It was the hollowness in his stomach when food was scarce. It was the pounding in his head when sleep was a luxury he couldn’t afford. It was the ache of jaw and fist when a fight couldn’t be avoided. But those problems were small, meaningless fears, easily pushed aside by confidence and a winning smile ( ... )

Drabble is just my way of saying short, so no protest here. You forgot to inc. a request, so I'm matching it with a Jack/Sky, G if that's okay? (I can always add in something else if you like!)

Jack didn't quite know how it had happened.
He remembered the briefing with Cruger, definitely; Sky, his stick-up-butt second in Command, had been very vocal in his objections to Jacks plan. And then there had been the sting; and he remembered a sulking Sky in position opposite him. He was a little hazy on the initial interception with the target - that must have been when he hit his head on the rafters - but how he had come to be engulfed in the strong but surprisingly tender embrace of his 2IC was anybodies guess.

;)

“We have to name them sooner or later,” Jack was saying as he walked in and handed Sky the newspaper.

“But they do have names,” the red ranger protested, pointing to each in turn “the black one’s ‘Noisy’, the grey is ‘Nosy’, the white is ‘Dribble’ - I don’t know how or why Bridge did it! - And-” he trailed off at the disapproving glare Jack was giving him. “I’m sorry Jack, but the idea of these being anything but appliances is ludicrous ( ... )

Awwwww! Thank you. Poor Jack, trying to make a home for Sky. I knew Sky couldn't resist the cuteness indefinitely. :)

Come to think of it, I'm sure that's how Jack landed Sky in the first place!

Thanks!

Wow, poor Jack having to learn that worrying about yourself is sometimes easier than learning to worry about someone else.

Title suggestion: Worry

since it's featured through the whole drabble. :P
