Sainsburys are today giving away their 'Bag for Life' for free. Wonderful. Except you're only allowed one. My shopping was too heavy to carry with one hand. I wasn't allowed a second bag, and they didn't have any normal bags either. Yeah, i should have been prepared and taken my own bag - i normally do - but i wasn't conscious enough at half past

Aha, England is also becoming environmental-friendly!
Too bad about the traditional bags though, because I still use them as bin liners...
A friend of mine brings me a new supply whenever he comes to Holland (a few times a year)

I try and keep my German shopping bags, because they're built to last. I have two bags for life from Tesco, and a similar bag from Lidl. However, you still find wherever you go that if you don't say something immediately, the cashier will use plastic bags that you can't give back and that fall apart almost immediately.
