partly public, partly friends-only--must comment here to be added

At the end of May 2006 I decided to make this journal partly open to the public and partly friends-only. On my profile page, I give the links to several examples of my writing at various communities. Browse through them and through past entries here. Do leave a comment here after friending me and I'll add you back.   You must comment first; it can ( Read more... )

Hello! I added you as a friend, and wondered if you would add me as well. :)

Of course, dear! I can't believe I didn't notice before you were on LJ. :)

(You do know I am Lady Lhach on the Gibsons, right? *wink*)

*laughs* That's all right - I didn't add you before now either. *blush*

Yes, I do know - but sometimes I get a little uncertain, even about things I used to be certain of, and so I didn't address you by your name just in case. *laughs*

I'd like to get to know you better... and the chats like we had last night aren't really the best for that. ;)

I agree. ;) But it was a fun little chat. I noticed you said on that Gibsons you've begun learning how to run your church's soundbooth--how's that going? I just, well, got drafted into doing the same, but all I have to run is the computer and powerpoint. :P

Hi Robin,

Have just spent a delightful 30 min. or so,browsing this site. (Am actually feeling slightly chilled as if I were with you on that autumn walk - the girl can write! Oh yes she can!)

Here is the quote I mentioned to you yesterday:

"The most important things are the hardest to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them - words shrink the things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller but for the want of an understanding ear."

I didn't realize just how many locked posts there were until this afternoon...so I unlocked a few of the writing ones, such as "Daffodil" and "The Strange Little Girl", which are actually two of my favorite pieces. Also the shortest of what little I've written on here.

That quote, as I said this morning, is absolutely perfect.
