The drive to Gotham is always a risky one, traffic wise. But even without her Canary Cry, one of Dinah's remaining unsung superpowers is her ability to always find an open lane, whatever vehicle she's driving.

When Babs voice comes back it sounds distracted, and if tone wasn't enough the fact that her first words are a question makes it truly obvious. "Canary?"

Oracle sounding distracted is not good. If only because Oracle never sounds distracted. Not when there's a job on.

"I'm thirty minutes drive from you. Can you hold?"

Please hold. Nothing sucks worse than a rescue mission that arrives too late.

Barbara takes a deep breath, eyes flicking across her monitors. Blockbuster's crew is about to make entry. She's ready for them. As ready as she can be.

She forces herself to sound more confident than she feels. "I can hold."

Y'know, Dinah's been taking orders from this computerised voice for about a year now. More than orders, they've shared.

You're not fooling this Canary, girlfriend.

"I've just realised," she says. It's part a genuine concern, part poking her friend to get the appropriate reaction. "I don't even know what you look like."

Her best friend in the whole of this Earth.
