How to migrate from LJ to Wordpress

Since LJ was sold to a Russian company, there are periodically rumors that it is going to bite the dust. Should those rumors look imminent, one option is to migrate to a Wordpress blog. I'm in no hurry to do it myself, but I do periodically hear rumors of LJ crashing and burning, so good to have an option!
