adfjldkfjlkdjf That was absolutely lovely! Thank you so much. :) Especially the ending was so...gah. Sad, probably, is the word I was looking for, yet absolutely perfect as well. Thank you so much!

I'm glad you liked it. I've been stressing over it for ages (hence the last minute post - so sorry about the wait), since your pairings aren't my usual. So I'm really, really glad you liked it. :)

Well, I'm pretty sure you're good enough at Mal/Inara to write some more of it.... XP

It was worth the wait, though, really.

awww, wow. you build such a wonderful mood throughout the course of this piece, so melancholy... and i love Inara's clothes "whispering" to the floor!

Thank you so much. I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, especially on that line. I rewrote it about 3 times before it came out. :)

I like the word pictures and atmostphere you provide for the story. You can really feel Mal/Inara's desperation and it's so sad that it doesn't really work.

Thanks for participating in Serenity Santa!

Somehow this seems so unbelievably accurate to me - I never could see a way to make the two of them truly happy together. Well written!

Thank you so much! I'm actually planning another Mal/Inara using the "you twist me about. I wish to hell you was elsewhere." lines from Serenity. Of course, that's going to be a lead in to a Mal/River fic, so I'm also mentally damaged (or at least many people think so).
