Do you know what makes going to the ob-gyn even more fun?  One word - interns.

Dr:  Hello.  *shakes hand* This is Ajfosdhfdosjlfsdml Kjdoafjdosod (I truly can't remember his name and I'm not sure I even heard it to begin with) and he'll be joining me for your examination.

Me:  What?

Dr:  He's interning with me and he'll be observing your examination.

Awwww, don't be too hard on them. It's hard being in his position, you know no one really wants to see you and only wants to see the doctor and they are taking more of their team by answering your stupid questions.

Besides, being a male intern at a OBGYN clinic is hard enough. Poor lad.

LOL No, no. I didn't give him a hard time. It was just that it was sprung on me. It's hard enough getting naked (although they told me I could keep on my shoes like some weird alternate version of the Joe Cocker song) and suddenly there is the possibility of there being three people between your legs instead of the usual two.

I'm also trying not to think of the little anatomy lesson the doctor was giving while he was down there. Just amazing the things that ran through my head while all of that was going on. ("Good, good, all the parts are still there." "Thank goodness the speculum isn't cold." "This is as relaxed as the knees get, doc. I'm not up on my yoga moves.")

I even shook the intern's hand when I left. I'm sure we both looked a little relieved that it was all over. chuckle

I kept saying to myself, "He's an intern. He needs to learn. He's an intern. He needs to learn." In the back of my mind though I'm thinking, "WTF does he have to learn on my bits??"

exactly. in theory, it's nice they're learning. in practice, they should learn on someone else. :P

Such fun, the surprise aspect of it! Not. I was dreading that while giving birth but luckily there were no interns/students/anyone needing to learn about girly parts and how babies shoot out of them in my hospital that day...

To say it was a surprise would be an understatement. *ch*
