To add to this, for those who don't know, that bridge was totally destroyed during hte 1991-1995/6/7 war in the former Yugoslavia. On either side of the river live the town's population, split along the lines of religion (which defines ethnicity there). Bosniak Muslims on one side, Herzegovinian Catholics on the other. The bridge was rebuilt with special EU funding in hopes that the sides would cross the bridge and begin to reconcile though thusfar, it hasn't really been like that. Mostar is a tense town and still has some international force soldiers deployed there.

It's a very symbolic bridge though. :) And it is gorgeous. And the water really is that color.

The bridge was actually a picture given to me in the requests.
I'm very glad to know it had a ton a history behind it though;
it only makes it that much more beautiful.
