In order to calm down.

It was better I vent in that last post than approach my child at that moment. We went to the store and took care of things. I am humiliated, shamed, angry, disappointed, and disgusted, and a hundred other things besides. *sigh ( Read more... )

Damn you...

Now I need to convince the Hubby to open up the purse strings... I really like that taffeta...

Why, oh why can't I be rich?

What's sad is that I've been checking the taffeta page at Denver Fabrics every single day for more colors... And I missed this! Heheheheh.

I heart the orange and the creamy one. The only problem I have is that they're all 11mm, which is half as stiff as the red stuff I used for the Norris gown. It could work, with plenty of interlining and whatnot, but I'm a little leary about using something that light for Tudor/Elizabethan. Regency and later definately could work, though. :)

Sad? Why do you think I noticed it? I check more times than I would like to admit to in a day. I'm pathetic, I know.

Yeah, I have been using it for linings and trim (or have plans to can we all say bias facings, piping? and let us not forget hats) You are right though. The ivory I have is near paper thin, makes an excellent lining though. I have become totally enamored with silk taffeta and I think that the gold colored (or the orange, or ruby) one would make a fabulous petticoat 'specially with a couched cord border on the bottom... Do it like one of the embroidery patterns in Norris... yup, one of these days. Must make more outer garments first. Need more.
