New Rules : Effective Immediately

Oct 06, 2010 21:38

Hello everyone.

I have some rather upsetting news. Due to a recent mishap between a buyer and a seller here in this community, I have been forced to draw up a new rule regarding direct sales. By direct sales, I mean sales where the items are posted directly to the community, rather than posted in a sales journal or eBay.

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELYAll ( Read more... )

Three months is a long time to allow something to happen to an item before it goes noticed or brought to attention by the seller. Especially when things aren't moving as fast as we'd like (economy). We stay at one month until I see how this thing pans out. I may reduce it to 2 months max if all goes well. It's either that, or items will have to be updated according to how often you re-post. If you don't advertise at least once a week, you wouldn't have to update your photos monthly. I know when sales are down, I don't even bother to advertise until something special is going on.

I'll think on it some more while I'm on vacation. Thank you for your input.

It's not really a mod's job to enforce PayPal's TOS on their community members. Really, it's not our job to do anything but make sure our own community rules are followed. To do more than that (such as mediate a dispute between members) is just a personal courtesy, and an attempt to keep things peaceful within the community {we} created. The issue of PayPal fees remains solely between the buyer, seller and PayPal themselves, should it ever come to that.

"For those who link to sales in another journal such as sales or another community, obviously this rule cannot be enforced upon you. I do not have that power. I do recommend it, as it's an excellent way to show your potential buyers that you mean business; good business. I don't expect you to go through and re-photograph everything though, so it's your choice. Don't be surprised if you have buyers as you to do this for something they're interested in though. If you refuse, it could mean a loss of business for you."

Evening!

Just a queck question for clarification. I am going through and doing group poses for my non trading card Sailor Moon related items. But then I need them back inside storage bins so they are safe. If I am taking group pics and my pics at this second have todays date But I am unable to post my listing until Tuesday is there a problem of retaking and having to change the date..??

No, the date is fine as long as it's recent. Most people won't care if the date is a little passed. What we're trying to avoid is photos that are months old, as they tend to be less than accurate.
