Aaaaa Jackie aaaaa, I love the look of your world! These collages are FANTASTIC. The idea of putting memories into lights and lanterns is so just so charming and magical and BEAUTIFUL. Your world makes total sense to me now (especially the slightly-warped parts!) and I can TOTALLY see the characters you've sketched/designed running around in there.
Aaaa, this collab is so much fun! I love how quickly it's progressed from a kernel of an idea to AWESOME COLLAGES CHARACTERS PLOTS CULTURES DESIGNS. EXCITING.
Thanks! That lantern shop and all it entails is kinda sorta not-so-secretly my favorite part right now, but by the end of the week I'll probably have a new favorite. SUCH IS BRAINSTORMING. I deal with issues of identity/memory pretty frequently in my stories, I used to have magic in everything, and I've always had a love for lanterns and glass balls and their ilk, so this is so my cup of tea. Also, Chris (a version of whom runs said lantern shop) in his original incarnation has a room filled with lanterns, colored glass, crystals etc., so it was an easy tie-in there.
It's amazing how much clearer these collages make everything. Everyone's worlds are suddenly MUCH more vivid and easy to grasp now, which is fantastic. WORLD BUILDING IS MY VERY FAVORITE.
I really like the look of your world so far! The contrast between the real world and the unworld should be good once illustrated. Your puzzles sound fun too.
I know! There is so much variety in this collab, and everyone's ideas are really fantastic. I love how this is shaping up! Also, thank you! Crooked, warped buildings are more fun than they should be, so I can't wait to draw some.
