There were limits to what a person could endure, and having one’s hair smelled by a serial killer while naked in the parking lot of a truck stop in the middle of winter was definitely one of them.
This is officially one of the top three sentences I have read in 2008. No joke.

I like thinking that he sits around writing purple prose between experiments.
Yes yes yes yes yes! I literally cheered out loud when Sylar started repeating a Momologue back to him. I didn’t remember the words and was like, “What is this business Sylar is spouting now?” but then you said it was from the journals and I do remember reading in an article back when season one was on that the monologues were supposed to be from Mohinder’s journal or a book he wrote or something, so YES. And the idea of Sylar sitting around and reading them, and just naturally memorizing them is perfection. I love fics that really delve into canon like that and unearth random little things and bring them to life in a whole new way. BRAVO!

Mohinder wondered what sort of bizarre ( ... )

Hee, thank you! :D

Lol, I hadn't even realized that! The Momologues always crack me up because they're so very...Mohinder. And I can imagine Sylar reading them and, being the narcissist that he is, assuming that they're all about him somehow. Oh Sylar.

I do understand where a lot of the noncon comes from and it has made for many really compelling stories, but I personally don’t think debraining people for their powers means that Sylar would rape someone.

Yeah, I don't think it would really fit into his idea of "evolutionary prerogative" (although technically speaking, if he were going after ladies, it sort of would, but I don't think that Sylar really understands evolution all that well. Or any of the other characters, for that matter. :P)

Sylar in general is insanely sexy in ( ... )

“You can be very annoying sometimes, Mohinder,” Sylar said. Mohinder couldn’t think of anything to say to that.
Snigger! I think that's a case of pot calling the kettle black. :-)

I enjoyed the first part and the second part is even better! I loved Sylar's actions and Mohinder's exhausted and incredulous reactions to them.

(Okay - now I'm going to the gym for real - see you in an hour or so, hopefully! Enjoy some naked Mohinder while you wait. :D)

And now I'm officially hooked on this story :-)

I have so much love for the constant references to time. Mohinder's need to hold onto as if it's the only tangible thing keeping him secure (which is amusing in itself since time is really just a human construct) speaks to the impact of the deprivation he was forced to endure. What's as notable in this chapter is how quickly Sylar adapts to that understanding and then, taking it a step further, tries to make it easier for Mohinder.

Two of the most intimate moments in this chapter for me revolve around that: 1. When Sylar gives Mohinder his watch, as if giving him a permanent reminder of that which was so cruelly taken from him (Sylar considered Mohinder very carefully for a moment, then took his watch off and fastened it around Mohinder’s wrist. “Is that better?” It was, actually. “Yes.”) and 2. When Mohinder is going through withdrawl and is freezing and Sylar gets into bed with him and then tells him the time and proceeds to count it out for him (Sylar shushed him again. “You ( ... )

Yay! \o/

Honestly, moments like this hit me really hard by way of creating intimacy and personal connection. It's two people who seem to be very on the same tangent, despite not agreeing or fighting, and move in relation to one another.

Ooooh, yes, that's a great way of putting it! Your comments are always awesomely insightful. :D

You've got a really great grasp on the way humour can and does easily play into very serious situations -- it always has a way of slipping in.

Thank you! I always feel like I'm walking a tightrope in this fic between the humor and the seriousness - it's good to hear the balance is working.

When Sylar makes the comment about Mohinder's hair and Mohinder snaps. It's like all that talk about killing was more of an annoying irritation but nuzzling his hair and being aroused in the parking lot is taking it too damn far :-)

Hee, that's probably my favorite part of this chapter. Poor Mohinder.

I find myself very excited about this story and seeing ( ... )

I love how Sylar has the need to keep Momo comforted and how his health is his priority. I like how he almost lost it at the thought of Momo getting ill and I don't think Momo got the reason why.

And I love Sylar's confession that he did not know Momo was a prisoner, you get the feeling that he would have come sooner otherwise.

Yeah, I don't think that Mohinder really gets that Sylar actually does care about him in a non-selfish way. It's going to take a loooong time for him to realize it. Poor Mohinder. :P
