"...there's nothing good about being awake ..."

Truer words, Julian. I would *kill* my partner if he woke me up at 6 AM.

One time, they were both so hot and bothered that they'd negotiated the price to negative two strips of latinum and made out in one of the changing stalls.

ROFL! "WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MAKING OUT TWO HOURS AGO!"

″For never was a story more obscene/Than that of Julian and his Elim.″

LOLOLOLOL! Also, I thought Garak found Shakespeare insipid.

"He probably shouldn't have loved her at all, but she was so beautiful and so brilliant, and he was weak. If he couldn't stop himself from loving her, he should have at least made sure she was safe from his enemies. But he didn't, and so she died..."

I suspected it was something like this. Oh, Garak.

Great story. Loved how Julian handled Garak. :D

Thank you - so glad you enjoyed it! :D

Ha ha, me too. And my husband's a morning person, so whenever I absolutely have to be up early and I'm beyond grouchy, he's all "Are you okay? Are you mad at me? What's wrong? :("

ROFL! "WE SHOULD HAVE BEEN MAKING OUT TWO HOURS AGO!"

Hee, I'm glad you liked that - it was a last minute addition.

I suspected it was something like this. Oh, Garak.

Inorite? Poor guy has so many issues - Julian has his work cut out for him.

Thank you - I'm glad you liked the dinner! I have two loooong WIPs in progress (including a novel-length G/B fic) so I'm not sure if I'll get to it, but I have a great idea for a sequel from poor Miles' perspective, including that dinner - it would be a lot of fun to write!

So great! I loved the seesaw of power between them here - and your dialogue was AWESOME.

Let's see...

Engaging concept? Check.

Spot-on characterization? Check.

Pitch-perfect dialogue? Check.

Smouldering sexiness? Check.

Dry humor? Check. ("Negative two strips of latinum"... HAH!)

Evasive!Garak? Check.

Not-a-wuss!Julian? Check.

A guest appearance by Miles as the best-friend-in-the-wings? Checkity-check-check! :)

In short, I absolutely LOVED it. You have a rare gift for this sort of thing. Bravo!

So glad it worked for you. I kind of dialed Julian's tendency to put his foot in his mouth up to eleven, so I was hoping it wasn't too much. And Garak has such a distinct way of talking that was kind of hard to pin down at first.

Ha ha, poor Miles. Everybody else has figured it out by now, but he's kind of oblivious about these sorts of things. He's in for a surprise. :P
