But first, RL updates: Baby shower - went well! My mom is an excellent party giver - it was all very low-key and lovely. I am now the proud owner of thousands of baby outfits ( Read more... )

On the plus side, Hiro's supposedly dying, so the time travelling won't last too long.

On the down side, they probably have Mohinder show up again right when Hiro's closest to death and find a "cure", because apparently Mohinder is a real doctor. And they really cannot kill a character. Which is too bad, because I haven't been able to stand Matt for a really long time either. I'm vaguely optimistic for this season, but I'm definately keeping my expectations low.

He's dying, but he's also apparently decided that he needs to ~right the wrongs~ of the past before he goes, so I predict lots and lots of really irritating, continuity-screwing time travelling before he gets too ill. And yeah, Mohinder will totally save him with his randomly acquired medical knowledge. SIGH.

Yeah, I'm keeping my expectations low, too - that way, I can't be disappointed, only pleasantly surprised! ...that's the plan, anyway. :P

Oh, I'm sure since they're pretty much forgotten how everything in season 1 happened, so they're probably going to retcon the whole thing again. I would really like to be optimistic about that storyline, and I'd really like to like Hiro again, but as it is, I don't see that happening. I was excited at the prospect of Ando and Hiro's sister too, until I saw the way they made it happen, ugh.

And ZQ, I'm sorry, but your hamminess is really, really annoying right now, and I usually love your hamminess.

Personally, I loved it. Maybe 'cause Matt was annoying the shit out of me too. OR it could be that I am just a hopeless fangirl *sigh*

Anyway, word to everything else - I couldn't agree more :)

See, I think I would have been fine with ZQ's performance there if the scene had been with a different character, but I was just too angy about Matt and it was affecting my enjoyment of everything else. ZQ chewing up the scenery is normally A-OK with me.

(And btw, Dexter did the whole "LOL IT'S LIKE AA, BUT WITH AN UNUSUAL BEHAVIOR THAT'S ADDICTING INSTEAD OF A SUBSTANCE, GET IT????????" thing 1000 x better).

I REALLY HATED THE AA STORYLINE ON DEXTER (MOSTLY BECAUSE LILA SHOWED UP, WHATEVER), BUT DEAR GOD. I like on my flist anyway, my dear, but it is REALLY NICE to have another sane person who regularly wants to punch Matt AND Hiro like I do. I CAN'T EVEN FIND PROPER INSULTS FOR THEM ANYMORE, THEY PISS ME OFF SO MUCH.

Tracy and Noah really do make zero sense, now that you mention it, but considering last year with Noah and SYLAR... IDK. I'm for it, I guess. Or I'm just shallow and want Ali Larter to stay on my screen. IF EVERYONE ELSE CAN THINK THIS WAY ABOUT ZQ, I'M ALLOWED, RIGHT?

Did you catch the line about Peter snagging his powers from Mohinder? I don't remember him doing that before the finale, so on the one hand a) that's kind of awesome because it means they've seen each other but then again b) it probably means Mohinder IS putzing around in his cab. Le sigh.

I can get not liking the AA storyline on Dexter, because it was very "LOOK HOW CLEVER WE ARE *WINK WINK*" But at least it made sense - Dexter does actually have an addiction that negatively impacts his life that he was trying to get under control. Matt, on the other hand, mostly uses his powers for shit like saving little girls, and he never seemed to really get a lot of illicit pleasure out of it, or use it just for kicks. So this whole "I'm out of controoollll with my addiiiiiction" makes no sense. It's just Kring trying and failing to be clever.

it is REALLY NICE to have another sane person who regularly wants to punch Matt AND Hiro like I do. I CAN'T EVEN FIND PROPER INSULTS FOR THEM ANYMORE, THEY PISS ME OFF SO MUCH.

EXACTLY. SOLIDARITY, SISTER!

Or I'm just shallow and want Ali Larter to stay on my screen. IF EVERYONE ELSE CAN THINK THIS WAY ABOUT ZQ, I'M ALLOWED, RIGHT?You are totally allowed. I really love Ali and I've always thought Tracy was a cool character (er, no pun intended). I just hope they don't destroy ( ... )

Honestly, if they NEEDED to steal the addiction storyline, why not STEAL IT FOR SYLAR, AT LEAST. I mean, really? It's one thing to be all I FEEL AWFUL FOR WHAT I DID TO SYLAR/ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, BLAH BLAH BLAH, but this is bullshit. I miss when Matt Parkman was this sweet, bumbling guy with an adoptive daughter and a messed up past. NOW HE IS JUST A DOUCHE.

I just hope they don't destroy her character to shoehorn her into a crappy romance like they did with Elle and Daphne. :/
Ughhh, that is a legitimate fear. Why can Heroes only do somewhat right by women if they are members of the Petrelli clan?

..yeah, that's totally what I'm going with for now.

:D :D :D

When Matt got all jealous bitching about Roy having been there for Janice and baby!Matt (lol, wot? I liked Roy, he seemed like a good guy) all I could think was 'umm... didn't YOU leave HER?'

...I really loved the Matt & Sylar & Janice stuff, but I've also become very used to having to shrug off the past of Heroes. ...Okay, I've become very used to trying to deal with shrugging off. Whatever. Still. For the rest of the characters (Save Hiro ::sighs:: I love Masi Oka so much that it’s painful how much I hate Hiro) it really feels like they’re finally growing as characters.

::crosses fingers it stays this way::

AND ALSO, "Men may only call you by your married name, and are not allowed in my house when I'm not here!" What the actual fuck, Matt.

it really feels like they’re finally growing as characters.

It does feel like they're actually dealing with consequences instead of just being completely reset like they have been in past, which is a definitely a step in the right direction.
