Andromeda took a drink and smiled at the woman in front of her, who looked rather uncomfortable in her dress uniform.

"Coming to me for help?" she said, a ghost of a smile on her face--she didn't trust Sariel as far as she could throw her. "Surely you and Sergeant Carrings can't have run out of new and interesting ways to fornicate yet."

"Guerrilla warfare?" Andromeda sneered. "There is a difference, General, between stealth and dirty tricks." She sat back down across from Sariel. "And Carrings can make his own damned innuendoes next time I see him," she muttered, just loud enough for the angel to hear.

Sariel clenched a fist and then sat on it. "LOOK. The easiest way to take that assignment with minimal loss of life is to take two legions out. A week in advance you cut off supply lines, leaving all those involved for dead. Let a week pass and then at about two in the morning you storm all four sides at once. You kill everyone inside and the fort is yours. No need to pull off dramatic sieges and last stands and all that bullshit that every fame hounding wanna be war hero does."

"Did you learn your tactics from a shovel?" Andromeda laughed. "I send a company in to cut the supply lines. Then, I have them steal their uniforms and ride into the fort, claiming that they were attacked from any direction other than the one we're actually coming from. If all goes well, every officer in that fort will be dead by the time the rest of the regiment arrives, and all we have to do is slaughter a bunch of confused enlisted men."
She lit a cigarette and blew the smoke in Sariel's face. "The fame's a nice touch, though, isn't it?"

She coughed a little and waved the smoke out of her face. Hell was nothing but fag smoke drove Sariel up a wall. She reached over and crushed the ember between her thumb and forefinger, leveling a glare. "I would appreciate it if you did not talk about my teacher like that." She paused to consider the strategy. "It would work if it wasn't so FUCKING cliche, Medrow. Like, bad B movie cliche. You're relying on too small a number for a huge fort and I'm almost certain that this is a tried trick that has failed time and again. Check your history books. You really think you can make it work?"

Andromeda rolled her eyes and lit the cigarette again. "Terrible manners you have."
There were a few moments of silence between the two of them as she pondered everything that could possibly go wrong with the plan. "Check your own history books, angel--Tarleton got away with it on numerous occasions, and he didn't have Hyramus Carrings on his side."

"Most people are polite enough not to smoke fags without asking if people mind. And I happen to be allergic." She faked a cough. Not half bad, if she did say so herself. "I'm not relying on others for a feat, you know. My abilities are more than enough." Pompous, yes, but it was true enough in her opinion. She let her voice drop. "Because fighting against Gods and demi-gods make all of these battles look like playground squabbles."

"Oh, please, the last thing I want to hear tonight is how awful it was to fight in all those wars that you and your paramore started." Andromeda attempted and failed at a smoke ring. "Do I get the mission? Or not?"

She sighed and finished off the remaining mead in her glass. Part of her really, really wanted to punch Andromeda in the face. "Is there nothing else that I could give you instead? I just foresee too many things going wrong with your plan that would be out of your control."

"In that case, Sergeant Carrings would suffice," Andromeda said with a pleasant smile. "I haven't had a decent fuck in far too long."

"...." Was the first response. Followed by a loud, "WHAT." And then after a moment's pause, "Hyramus is not a fucking bargaining tool you slut."

"Oh, I rather think he is," Andromeda purred. "And I'm sure he won't mind a night or ten with my company."

She felt her legs flail a little under the table. Sariel had to hand it to Andromeda, the woman knew how to push buttons. "THE GODDAMN ASSIGNMENT'S YOURS! I HOPE YOU FAIL IN THE MOST SPECTACULAR MANNER POSSIBLE AND ARE CRUCIFIED BY THE ENEMY ON A METAL CROSS THAT'S SLOWLY HEATED AS YOU CHOKE UNDER YOUR OWN BODY WEIGHT." she declared and sunk low into her chair, practically melting onto the floor.

"Excellent." Andromeda exhaled a plume of smoke into the air above the table and grinned, her eyes twinkling. "I will meet you in the stable yard tomorrow morning at eight...and I'm sure Colonel Rattan will be most pleased to have you all to herself."

"Mmm, well, so will Jarim," she replied without missing a beat. "I mean this is at least a month long assignment, taking travel time into account and everything."

Andromeda blinked. "You will..." she hissed, baring her teeth for a moment before regaining her composure. "You will find that he's a bit less...intriguing, shall we say, between the sheets than Sergeant Carrings, I'm afraid."
