BLAH BLAH BLAH, STUFF

Another school year done.
Happy happy joy joy!

So now I can get cracking on my reading list, start shopping (or stop...soon) and generally have more of a life. YAY!

And now that no exams and most Tim Hortons have stopped tempting me with roll-up-the-rim car offers, I can tone down the coffee drinking. Ha!

Updates... )

shopping, work, yay, books, life crap

I've been reading a lot of kids/YA stuff. I want to read "The Name of the Wind" because I've heard it's been hyped, but I haven't read it myself. You want any specific kinds of recs? Like adventure vs. character vs. bloodbaths?

I heard you about the commuting. I consider travel time part of my work day, but I'm a spaz like that. I am soooo covetous of my time, I get to be a real bitch if I think someone's wasting it (or I'm wasting it).

Never saw Gundam Wing. Then again, I was never really into anime, with the the Miyazaki collection exception. I watched Revolutionary Girl Utena last year - I didn't think I'd like it as much as I did, but I did it for research into faerie tales rather than, "I love this show!!!!"

I'm always up for some adventure. And bloodbaths.
I'm thinking more sci-fi or fantasy of course. I have Simmons' Olympos, but I'm missing Ilium. Can't start the damn thing :(

Gundam Wing is awesome! As is Utena!
I don't like most mainstream anime, tbh. Well, mainstream in West at least. Of course, I love me some Miyazaki as well. Howl's Moving Castle FTW!

I consider travel time part of my work day
LMAO! Me too, and I calculate my hourly rate by including those. Discouraging :(

I first saw the bastardized version of Nausicaa when we had a beta max. Good times, that. I recognized the artwork in Princess Mononoke a decade later and realized where the art came from ( ... )

OMG I LOVE ♥ Canticle. One of my faves.
I've been meaning to read the Screwtape letters (added to Depository list).

I recently read Voyage of the Dawn Treader, I'm leaving Narnia alone for now (but I watched the 1st movie again last night).

Also, I'm way out of it because I thought SoI&F was a two book thing. LOL
There's 4?

Kushiel's Dart sounds interesting, but it's 4 books too (6)? Or something. Does it stand alone?

If you have any singles you enjoyed, throw my way.

Thanks hun :)
