Seraph Graphics FAQ’s:
We’ve come across some pretty regular questions since the opening of this community, often left to us in comments. We hope that by providing you with this handy-dandy FAQ list, it will help clear up some of the confusion we’ve been seeing.
If you have a question that isn’t on the list, please feel free to comment with it. We’ll be updating this as time goes along.
1. How do I tell if an offering is open or closed?
2. Is there an easy way to find offerings or icons by certain makers?

5. What is the policy commenting when requesting or picking up a graphic?
6. Where can I find the loved/sparklie/winged list?
7. How many graphics may I request at one time?
8. What happens if I don't pick up my graphics?
9. I'd like to become an affiliate with your community. How do I apply to do so?
1. How do I tell if an offering is open or closed?
If an offering is closed, it will say so somewhere in the post. If it doesn’t say something like “Closed” or “Offering Closed Until Later Date”, etc. then it isn’t closed.
We also try hard to make sure we use the “offerings” tag on open offerings, and “closed offerings” on closed ones, so another quick way to see if it’s closed or open is to check the tags. Tags are your friend!
2. Is there an easy way to find offerings or icons by certain makers?
Absolutely! Each maker tags their posts with their name. For instance, if you wanted to see
celestialblue's icons and offerings only, you could click the tag in the left column of the community that says celestialblue. Viola! All her posts come up, and only her posts, from most recent to earliest.
3. I’m not sure what the limits are on each offering…help!
If the post doesn’t explicitly say there is a limit, then there isn’t one. Since the opening of the community there have been very few “limited” posts, and all have been clearly labeled as such. Almost all offerings are unlimited.
4. How long do I have to pick up my icons/blinkies?
Generally speaking, there is no exact time limit. We make allowances for being out of town, internet disconnections, or that you may just miss a pick up post because of a lot of friends entries. We are pretty lenient when it comes to not being able to pick up the graphics.
That said, while we’re not mean or anal about pick-ups, please try to have them picked up within a reasonable amount of time; within a week or so. It helps us stay organized and frees up space on our computers!
Please see question number 8 for consequences for NOT picking up your graphics.
5. What is the policy on commenting when requesting or picking up a graphic?
To request an offering, each maker usually supplies a template of some kind to be filled out, either with an html form, or something in the text of the offering itself that you can just copy and paste into the comment. Make sure to fill these out completely. There is a reason we ask for everything we do, even if it’s not apparent.
Make sure you use the correct subject line when your requesting, as we use filtering in our emails to let us know when we get a new request. If you don’t use the right subject, odds are your request will end up in the junk mail folder, or the trash, and you’ll be relying on luck that we happen along your request in the community itself.
As far as pick-ups go, a general “Picked Up” or something similar is acceptable.
6. Where can I find the loved/sparklie/winged list?
Being as most offerings are unlimited at the moment, there isn't any need for one at this time, so you can't find it.
If/when this changes, we will be sure to announce it to the community.
7. How many graphics may I request at one time?
There is not strict "limit" on how many graphics you can request at one time. If it's a smaller number, odds are they will all get into the next pick up post of whichever maker. If it's a larger number, we'll post them as we get done.
Just don't get upset if you request 15 items and we don't get them done within a few days.
We all have lives outside of LJ, including families, jobs, errands, etc. And, while we are angels here at SG, we aren't miracle workers. If we were, we'd have already won the lottery!
8. What happens if I don't pick up my graphics?
Each maker reserves the right to deal with this on an individual basis. Your first offense will earn you a warning, and it may be done privately, or via a community post. After that, it depends on the maker. You could be added to a Do Not Make For List, suspended from requesting temporarily, etc. We will also delete said graphic(s) and may refuse to make them for you again.
Also, it is NOT the maker's job to hunt anyone down and tell them they have X amount of days to pick something up. We are nice about it here at SG, and post reminder posts, links to old pick ups, etc. because we know RL can be hectic. But, if we don't hear from you in a long while, we're left assuming we aren't going to hear from you at all, even if we keep trying.
It is disrespectful, in this and in any community, to ask someone to take time out of their life to do you a favor, if you are not going to even acknowledge that the favor was done for you.
