Summer to-learn list

Sometimes I feel that all I learned at college was that I'm never going to know as much as I should. I have a whole list of things that I'd like to learn this summer that is far too long to actually accomplish. Some of the major milestones I'd like to hit before going to Japan on August 1st

Theory books: Jazzwise, I've been really enjoying Mark Levine's stuff. The books from Berklee Press are also nice "throw you into the deep end of the pool" intros to playing various instruments for newbies like myself. --Mel

Wow, haven't checked lj for a long time. You have some very admirable goals. I should write down my own set of goals. I know what you mean about a daunting workload -- I keep pushing things off when I'm busy, saying "I'll spend time on that when I have time," but then things build up. If I spent my 'free' time on all of the things I've pushed off, I'd be more busy than I am when I'm not 'free'. For your list, I can help with 3 if you would like. Maybe we can do some photo editing when I visit?
