That's a remarkably sensuous-looking Frodo, even injured. And he's very clean.

Yep. He does fantasy and science fiction illustrations. His colors are very vivid, and his people are mostly very beautiful. And clean, even in the battle scenes.

I'm not sure how I feel about that picture -- in some ways they're just not my Frodo and Sam...and yet I find it very compelling...and it's very slashy...I'm not just saying that because Sam is holding Frodo -- I mean there's something about the artwork that screams "We are sleeping together" :-)

They're not my Frodo and Sam either, but I actually like that. It's too easy to get stuck in one particular image of them, especially with the films. (That's one thing that made me uneasy about the movies coming out - the idea of the characters getting frozen like that.) So I welcome different versions of them, as long as the artist is skilled.
