I like that image of her flapping that business card with her fingers.
And I like that Clark was worried about Chloe enough to track her down, but didn't try to yell or browbeat her or refuse to listen to her side after he found her. I don't know how far you plan to delve into the Davis/Doomsday backstory, but that whole mess in S8 left me in knots; so I'm interested to know your head canon about how that all went down without Jimmy dying or Clark fleeing to his Fortress.
We have that in common, as I'm sure I've used that action a few times in fics.
That said, I'm glad that you liked my approach to Clark in this. It was an interesting balance to write. I ended up going into a bit more detail on the Davis/Doomsday thing than I thought, but I'm hoping I covered my bases on the AU and that you enjoy it.
Solid chapter, but now you've made me want the next one. :)
Sure enough, once enough time had passed, she felt herself getting restless. Hee. It's a good reminder that Chloe has to be doing something always. And here, like in the beginning of season 9, she has to keep busy or risk overevaluating her life choices. I like the idea that she just doesn't know how to turn her brain off, though I also like to think that Oliver helped her with that. (No, not in a dirty way. Ok, maybe a just a little bit
( ... )
The way I saw it was that Chloe has issues with sitting still. Everyone knows it, but it doesn't stop her from trying here. It's certainly a different look to canon, but that allows for relationships to grow in different ways. And yes, Oliver did help her with turning her brain off in canon... in multiple ways ;)
It's no secret that Victor is my favourite. I just imagine him and Chloe bonding over tech stuff and he's the rational one who calls Oliver on his BS sometimes. I do like Bart though, he's just harder to write.
Yeah, I didn't realize that until now, but that must have been something I picked up from fandom. Don't care, in my fics, Ollie can cook and it's adorable.
Heh, I found that analogy and I couldn't resist. I mean, Chloe works with computers for a living (as Watchtower anyway).
I hope you like Chapter 3, but thanks as always for your great feedback here.
