In a word: No.

In a more expounded answer: Monogamy is not a natural state of being.  If you look at the way other animals interact and reproduce, they do not stay with the same partner.  They mate then move on.

Perhaps I'll expound on this more later.  For now, though, chew on that.

Not all animals "mate and move on" Several species mate for life... Swans for instance is the one that comes to mind, and I believe some wolves...
