I agree with your statement about Harry Potter. I did enjoy that series, but there were quite a few overreaching themes that made me go, "...no." I would talk about this further, but I don't wanna clutter up your entry.

Most of my quarrels with Harry Potter concern the epilogue, which I hear is incredibly common. :P Really, I just re-read "The Complete Works of Maya" by Sarah Rees Brennan and the entire time I kept thinking "WHY ISN'T THIS REAL?" Or canon. Whatever.
Anyway I just hated the epilogue, mostly.
(LOL REMUS LUPIN. No subtlety, ever. Gaiman > Rowling in that department.)
I CAN'T BELIEVE I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS YOUR BIRTHDAY BB. I AM V. V. DISAPPOINTED IN MYSELF RIGHT NOW, ESPECIALLY SINCE LJ TELLS ME THESE THINGS ON MY PAGE.
