Fandom Overview: The Authority

Greetings, seekers of the good crack! I'm 20thcenturyvole, and please bear with me, as I've never done a fandom overview before. But hopefully this one will serve. The Authority fandom is pretty small - it's not a hugely well-known comic - but like most tiny fandoms, what there is is of pretty kickass quality. You had me at "canonically gay couple" and "moral complexity". I thought DC denied the very existence of such things.

Hee, I thought so too. Often as not, the main players of DC treat the Authority like borderline-supervillains, which can get annoying. It's very much worth it for Apollo and Midnighter, though. :D

(Also that is a totally adorable icon. I <3 those comics!)

Do! Ellis and Brubaker's runs are particularly good, and the current storyline is amazingly well-executed (as you can probably tell from the fragments at scans_daily). I really would love this fandom to be bigger.

lol, it's been a while since I managed to get into a fandom that's managed to grab my complete attention - so the Authority was a joy to read over the summer. I'm just sad that I got onto the train so late.
