I've finished the first book of the Twilight series and I won't get the other two before Tuesday... And there was a teaser at the end of the book for the next... and I couldn't resist and went to amazon to read the synopsis of book 2... Bad idea... very bad idea. It's not that I found Twilight that imaginative, but it's a compelling read

I understand what you mean about Twilight not being awe-inspiring, but nevertheless compelling. However, I have to tell you that you can see Meyer grow as a writer through the series. New Moon is lovely, and Eclipse is just beautifully written.

New Moon is a fantastic read, but yes, disquieting in a lot of respects.

If I thought I were impatient before, now it's worse! that's the drawback to living in a non-English speaking country: the surest way to find the book you want is to order it on amazon, but you have to wait for the post, and there are a lot of non-work days now (May 8th, Monday after Pentecost...).

Quand j'étais plus jeune, j'ai eu une longue phase "histoires de vampires", mais je me suis totalement lassée, donc ceux-là, jamais essayés. Quoiqu'il en soit, Simenon, c'est plutôt un changement de genre assez radical :D (Et pis, petite anecdote: je suis allée dans la même école primaire que lui... dans une rue d'ailleurs rebaptisée, rue Simenon).

C'est un changement de style, certes, mais les Maigret sont courts (donc celui en cours devrait être fini pour quand je recevrai mes deux autres livres) et j'aime bien les Maigret.
