I really love the world you are creating out of the little they gave us of Eric and Godric's relationship. This is beautiful and compelling.

Thanks. I enjoy writing these, and jumping back and forth between then and now.

Man, something about this just really got me. I just kept reading it, over and over again. It was so disturbing and sweet and sad all at the same time - like I'm not sure if I want to smile or cry (sadly, neither is an option in the middle of class). I think it was something about the vulnerability, maybe.

I love your Godric and Eric so much! I want to know their whole 1000 year history!

Maybe I should have rated it M for melancholy? Because it's definitely in there, and the next one as well... As you know, my stories all intertwine. I created this whole story in my head for their relationship then and now. And so I asked the questions, why would they still be together after all this time? How does it relate to the way their relationship was first formed? Eric loves being a vampire, but he was an adult man -- he was acutely aware of everything he had given up at first. And some of that adult humanity winds up being transferred to his unlikely affection for Godric, who -- omfg, clearly has some unhappiness haunting him. Godric's the maker, and has the power, but Eric winds up being a father figure too. I love how their intelligence and affection ends up pulling them together, even though things are a bit rocky at first.

I love the way your stories intertwine - I'm seriously hoping that the show lives up to this awesome history that has been created (or, they hire you to write all future Godric/Eric scenes for the show).

I love their talk. I love those conversations almost more than anything else I do with them, fun as they are to play with.

Hah. Is that :) like "good fic" or :) like, where's my fucking Carsten update, you lazy bitch?!

When I browse my journal I'm reaching the conclusion that I look like a daft person.

I seriously don't think I've ever felt so bad for Eric...

Melancholy is definitely the word, but it was really well done and a great take on it. It seems to me that this would be a very realistic portrayal of the two's early days together.

:) I wish there was a thumbs up option on this thing!

Damn, I know. I felt really bad for Eric too, and that's not my default position... the next fic is a little more redemptive, but still. Maybe it's the time of year, but that mindset is just there for me. Everyone focuses on what is gained (eternal life, woo hoo!), but what about what is lost, you know? I don't like the Twilight books for other reasons, but when they spend their lives as eternal teenagers? In HIGH SCHOOL? Fucking kill.me.now. That's my idea of hell. Anyway, these two overcome their initial difficulties and craft a relationship that ends up surprising and enriching both of them, and it's fun to think about how they get there.

PS My money says you feel sorrier for Godric in the next one of these. Not that that's necessarily better.
