From how I interpreted it, main character killed his brother, then his brother came back to entice him into going back to the hole, where the brother's zombified body was lying in wait to kill him?
Or his brother was the monster? OMG, IDEK any more XD
The Prince & the Sea was amazing too! Sooo messed up, but so amazing! XD
I'm so confused! Still trying to piece together how the 'brother' that returned didn't have a rip in his coat, even though the murdering brother tore a piece of the coat to bring as evidence. Also not sure why the murdering brother saw his 'brother' digging holes late at night...
I guess it's not really sensible to try and make sense of a fairy tale with magical elements, right? XD
Maybe the reason why the 'brother' was digging a hole is because the hole he dug and the hole he was murdered in are somehow connected underground. Maybe the murdered 'brother' came back to life to avenge himself? And then he was waiting for his murdering brother to come investigate the hole so he could then kill him.
So confused...and so sad! Waaah the older brother was so nice to his lil bro D:

Yessss D:
And dude don't worry, when I first read the story I spent HOURS trying to figure out what happened!
I too think the holes are connected. I thought he went to the hole to sleep at night.
I loooooove the Prince & the Sea, I could sit and gaze at the beautiful artworks for days on end *____*
EDIT: Reading it over, it says the hole smelled of lilac. So I think the elder brother was the monster, and he killed an innocent wolf pretending it was the monster D: Then the younger brother killed him, but since he was a monster I think he came back or didn't die completely D:
Ooh I think I saw the His Head Was Read on tumblr the other day together with some pictures of weird deep holes in Siberia. So I decided not to click then or now >.>
The Prince & the Sea is creeptastic and amusing, I loved it :D
(and I adore these puns; last year Miss suprised me with Palentine's Day, but yours is even better)
