[Cloud couldn't be allowed to hang there and decay away. What use would he really be to anyone if he was dead, it would defeat Sephiroth's whole purpose of not skinning him alive after he'd won the fight. Cloud would be controlled again, eventually. There was that pesky hardened defense of his which needed dealing with first however

[Interpretation of the sound that came from Cloud as a 'what did you say?' Sephiroth pauses a moment and looks up at Cloud. Emerald eyes forever reflecting his mood which at this point was seemingly content to make sure that Cloud's slice wasn't going to go bad. It'd just cause complications. If he didn't need Cloud whole parts of him would already be disposed of]
"Humans. Easily tainted and killed by it..."
[Soon enough and not exactly being careful not to hurt either the new slice looks a nice healthy shade of red at least and the area around it is clean. Sephiroth stands back up and looks over the area from afar. Seemingly satisfied with how clean it is he looked over Cloud's face, he must have realized that Cloud needed to drink some of the water left in the bottle]

[Talking of open doors, digging into thoughts when trying to hold this kind of a conversation with someone to Sephiroth is just an invitation to be nosy. In Clouds case it's the perfect opportunity to try to get Cloud to see what he means. Tifa and Cloud, how she'd been late and Cloud had thought she wouldn't show. All the feelings of betrayal mixed with that get heightened as Cloud recalls it, he'd always wanted to be Tifa's friend but she had so many. Why should she turn up? What had she been doing with her other friends that had been more important than spending time with Cloud? There were a million possibilities. But she pitied him, for the way the other kids shunned him, for the way he'd forever be blamed for the accident on Mt. Nibel...she probably didn't even care when he'd vanished to become as great as Sephiroth.
The following recalled memory of his mother quickly twists into a scolding for a child Cloud about needing to grow-up, before vanishing in a bright hot orange flash of fire and hideous laughter]
<insert relevant hallucination heresephiroth_sanFebruary 28 2009, 13:44:35 UTC
[Sephiroth hadn't been looking at Cloud, more like focused inwards at his task of twisting Cloud's mind to the way he wanted it but the short shout made him look up. He could almost feel the shake that overtook Cloud run through his own body, he'd dug so deep into the blond's psyche. Sephiroth smiled, satisfied that Cloud seemed to be getting the picture. It would be too easy to push an hallucination through their link now...but the damage it might do...]
[The flash of orange fire cooled and dispersed into the background of Tifa's bedroom at Seventh, the night Sephiroth sent his nightmare to get Cloud to come. By a combination of intuition confirmed by recent memories in Cloud's mind and what he knew what Cloud had done by his reaction to the taunt during their fight the scene was reconstructed fairly realistically. But instead of the exclamations of pleasure that one might have expected from Tifa, the vocalization of the reproductive process was stripped away to thoughts only. The continuing pity from Tifa, she'd surely experienced
