Sometimes fannish hate is total yet irrational. My roommate and I both have experienced this, and have dubbed it "actorhate", since it tends to span across various fictional incarnations. ( 7 of 9 and her actress in my case. I *know* there's nothing wrong with her, and yet. Also. We mutually actorhate every DiCaprio character ever.)

This may not be what you want, but 12-12-12 does some interesting commentary on WHY she hates Stefan. She is also not fond of Damon and all the Originals except Rebecca. She talks about imbalance of power, differing kinds of power and how incredibly manipulative Stefan and Elena are. Child may still hate Stefan for no good reason, but he may gain some talking points so the conversation gets more interesting.
